This was a photo from the plane of Lee's flying lesson that I gave him for his birthday, and then when he got off the plane with his sick bag!!! It was luminous blue because all he'd had to drink was a blue powerade!! This was a photo of us near the Opera house looking back to the city about a month ago.
Our first home!!!
Hi all, sorry about the huge delay between postings, don't even know if anyone looks at this anymore! Anyway, we just bought our first home a couple of weeks ago. A little two bedroom apartment, around the corner from where we are now. It doesn't have the views and needs a lot of work, but it's still very exciting. We get the keys in two weeks.
Lee and I both have work now. Lee's working in intensive care in St. George hospital, and at the minute all's going well, although he's starting to get itchy feet again, which doesn't take long. I'm working in a coffee shop in Cronulla, which is great for the time being and it's allowing me to do a counselling course as well, as I'm only working part time.
We plan to be back in the Uk in April/May of 2007 for Lee's sister Emma's wedding, and hopefully my friend Rachel's wedding as well. We're planning on getting a trip to London, Hull, Darlington, N.Ireland and France all in, but we'll have to see what time, money and energy allow.
Keep emailing and posting comments, it's great to hear from everyone, and I'll try not to leave it so long next time before writing.
Lots of love to all,
Cathra and Lee

Home sweet home

The living room. Views from the balcony at sunset. Well sorry again for the late news but cathra and I have been working hard moving into our new apartment. Also we have just got connected to the web. Anyways God has been really providing for all of our needs over the last while and within two weeks we have an apartment, car and a job for myself. Also it has been nice to spend some time with my aunt, uncle and cousins. Ok our apartment, well its pretty nice it is about 5 mins walk to a few beaches and its right on the water at the bay. Even better the balcony has unobstructed views!!! I must say it does beat the view of Grafton Street in Hull hands down. Will try and upload some pics. We would also like to thank again all those who gave us pressies because we are now seeing the benifit of that as we have been able to kit out our house through wedding pressies. Thank you. I have been working for a nursing agency but I really don't want to do that for long. Cathra is currently looking so if you could pray that employment things get sorted out because we need to pay rent and stuff. Anyways will keep you guys posted here goes with the pics.

Swimming with sharks!!!!!!!!!!
We've been in Koh Phi Phi for nearly a week now and the sun's broken through the clouds only once!!!! Currently raining... may as well be at home except for it's 30 degrees not 3! We went snorkelling on our first day and saw about 5 black tipped reef sharks which was amazing, they just fly through the water. The scariest thing was the fish that swims with them that tried to clean us cos it looked just like a baby shark and it was eating us!! I finished my open water diving course which was brilliant, so good in fact that Lee and I are going to do our advanced as well in a few days. Thanks to all my friends in Darlo who gave us the chance to do it.
Our christmas plans have changed due to the increased risk or terrorism against tourists in Indonesia. Originally we were going to be in Bali but the British Embassy have warned very strongly against it so we changed our flights amd are now going to be in Sydney for Christmas. We arrive there on the 17th of Dec, and are going to be in Sydney till the beginning of Jan then head up the coast and continue our travelling to New Zealand before finally settling in Sydney in March.

It's a hard life at the beach!!!!
Hi all,
We've arrived in Bangkok and are heading down to Kho Phi Phi tonight, one of the islands in the south of Thailand that was badly hit by the Tsunami. Cambodia was like a different world from Thailand. Much more poverty, more like India. We went to the killing fields near Phnom Phen where Pol Pot killed nearly 2 million people in the space of 4 years only 25 years ago. It is amazing to see how far the country has come on in this time, given what it went through, but it still has miles to go. We then went to the north to see the amazing temples of Angkor (where Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones were filmed). It was really good fun exploring the ruins but slightly spoiled by the numbers of tourists there. Some of the less well known ones were better because there were less people. Had a nightmare journey from Cambodia into Thailand but now we're here we have all the comforts of home, it's slightly bizarre. We'll try and put some photos up. Keep in touch, send us emails, and leave comments, it's really good to get them.

Good Morning Vietnam
We've survived India and made it to Vietnam, and sometimes it did feel like surviving, but at the same time India is an amazing country with such a variety of people and experiences, I think we have a love hate relationship with the place. Vietnam is totally different, and so far we love it. It's calmer and cleaner and the people seem friendlier, and believe it or not I think it's cheaper! Our plan at the minute is to take a three day tour to Halong Bay then travel down the coast, stopping off at a few places, to Hoi Chi Ming City(Saigon). We're then going to take a boat up the Mekong River to Cambodia and visit Angkor Wat and from then we haven't quite worked it out. We'll visit the family Lee stayed with in Thailand when he was teaching there and then do our Paddi dive course, courtesy of my friends in Darlo (thanks guys) and make our way to Singapore airport which is the best airport in the world!!!! We hads a stop off there on our way over to Hanoi and it was class, everything is free!!! Free internet, massage chairs, roof top swimming pool, xbox games etc. We're off now to go to a market and explore Hanoi,
Lots of love Cathra and Lee
